Happy Independence Day!!

Liberals are mad at...ME!


Is it just me or are you noticing how mean the liberals have gotten? Do they not realize they won the last election? Ya' think they could show a bit of noblesse oblige, but wow, between David Letterman mocking Sarah Palin, and right down to the recent comments made on this blog....

Apparently, if you disagree with the almighty Obama, (praise his holy name), you are (and I quote), "retarded" and "a hypocrite". I did not publish the retarded comment, because I don't like that term. It is a very childish thing to say and possibly hurtful to some, but trust me, it was used to describe yours truly. Conversely, I feel a bit honored by the insults. I am not a blogger on the scale of Ann Coulter or Michelle Malkin, yet I am treated to the same delightful remarks as those with a much larger audience. Which again brings me to the original point. Liberals are mad, maybe even "Hatter" mad. I wonder if they just go looking for Republican blogs on which to vent their fury.

Well, please, Liberal friends, and I do mean friends, (you are increasing my numbers...I like, I like), continue to rant on my blog. As long as you do not use vulgarity (I trust you know what that is), I will continue to publish you. It gives me great pleasure to print your so obviously, well thought-out ideas. But, please, afterwards, sit down with a cup of tea, your face is all red and sweaty. I don't want to lose any readers to high blood pressure...

Obama: not so Fox-y

So, President Obama doesn't like Fox News Channel. I guess it is not so fun to have to answer difficult questions from such evil guys like...oh, Neil Cavuto (love him), Shep Smith (not a conservative), or Chris Wallace (oooh, evil!). It is not as if President Bush ever had to take tough questions from any unfriendly networks...like...ALL OF THEM! Even my darling Cavuto (apologies to my hubby!), interviewed George Bush and I would say it was not exactly friendly towards Bush. Hell, even Pres. Clinton, of whom I am not a fan, stood up to criticism. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,158960,00.html

I feel that if Pres. Obama is so marvelous and god-like, then going on Fox News could change all of us into Hopium addicts. So bring it on, Mr. President. Let's see what you've got. So far, you've just been preaching to the choir. Maybe I will like what you have to say. Hey, I love this country and want the best for it. Haven't seen you, Pres. Obama, giving the best to America as of yet. Convince me, please.

It is almost childish. Pres. Obama is going to take his ball and go home. After all, it is not his fault, it is the other guy and why is everyone against him? How petty. Be the man you say you are. Go on Fox and explain yourself. It is Stalinesque, this blackout of certain media outlets.

Is anyone concerned yet?

Latest Win!


Just received a new book from GoodReads.com. It is called Marcelo in the Real World. It is about an autistic young man. I think my oldest daughter will enjoy this book, as she is very interested in this topic. She wishes to go into Special Education in College.

Mother's Day.

Here we are, looking at another Mother's Day. I lost my mother when I was 7, so I guess I am coming at this from a unique perspective, but I just don't think these days are a big deal. I mean, to me, being a mother is something I chose. It is my job. Do we have Postman's Day? or Garbage Man Day? Doesn't a good, decent person honor their parents every day or just once a year, you send flowers and now you can be a jerk the rest of the year?

The thing that set me off today is this. I was flipping radio stations and I came across B96 DJ's wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day and then the one guy said,

"Especially the single moms, who work twice as hard, with half the resources."

and the other echos him by saying that single moms do not get the accolade they deserve. Accolade, for what? Didn't we all chose motherhood? It is not like getting the flu. You are not just minding your own business, when all of a sudden, Whoops, look, a baby! Okay, if you want to wish all moms well, do so, but why special wishes for women, who CHOSE to raise a child without a father? (Understand, I don't mean divorce.) No one wants to talk about this, because we all know a brave single mom, (I am not talking about divorce situations!), but if we are honest with ourselves, we must admit, we sometimes think, "Hmmm, maybe this wasn't such a good idea." Ann Coulter got in trouble for saying much the same thing.

I used to enjoy buying my dad things on Father's Day. What a great guy he was and will be missed. He was a widower, raising two little girls, so don't lecture me on single parenthood. However, this was thrust upon him, not chosen. I honored him every day of my life and still intend to do him proud.

Isn't that what your mom Really wants for Mother's Day?

I will never be moderate!

So, some mushy moderates think, in order to win, we need to be more like them. Hmmm....um, no.

When we become moderate, we lose! That is why we lost THIS election! Oh, please, are you going to tell me that Mc Cain was too conservative? He practically handed the election to Obama! (actually there are rumors that he did...he didn't want to try too hard to beat the black guy, rumors, you understand, but you did not hear it from me.)

Look, if Republicans want to win, we have to stand for something. You don't win by saying, "Well, yes, you have a point, but, so does he. Let's just wait and see."
You win by stating firmly what you think and then proving it everyday by your actions. Shades of Ronald Reagan perhaps? (Oh, I miss that man!)

In our lives, most of us thoughtful people know what we think. We'd like a candidate that does too. It seems that many of those in office are in, strictly for what power and prestige it gives them. What happened to being servants of the people?

If you want to win votes, you must clearly articulate that you are in agreement with the majority of people and then DO it. Moderate Republicans tend to say one thing and then vote with their buddies on the left. I am sick of that. That is why Republicans are losing! Most of us are annoyed with you guys telling us one thing during the election and then doing the opposite when in power. That is infuriating to many of us on the right...and to many who vote in good faith. We have a right to expect that you, as elected officials, will do as you promised. (Term Limits, anyone?)

It is like this. The Drive-By Media wants Republicans to believe this latest line of garbage, because it is in their interest as Liberals. Please, don't be fooled again!

Thanks to a glass of wine.


I haven't been inspired lately, so it was suggested I unwind with a glass of wine and just let it flow. Here's what I'm thinking about.

People, do not leave the political education of your children to the schools. I know that friends are sometimes surprised at the things my children say. Today, in school, my 11 year old daughter was asked to use one of her vocab words in a sentence. She replied,
"Fraud, Acorn is accused of voter fraud in Vegas. Fraud."
Now, I did not know she would be using this word. I didn't even know it was a vocab word. (I am not a good mother, I don't do their homework for them.) However, some will accuse me of indoctrinating my daughter. Okay, true enough. If you call instilling my values and beliefs into my own children indoctrination.

However, these kids do not parrot me. The same daughter was told by a classmate "Bush lied, people died." My Kate asked this girl to explain and was met with a hostile stare. So Kate, (like her mother, loving a political fight.), tried to get a discussion going on why Bush went to war and why war is sometimes necessary. This did not go over well, as you can imagine, if you, yourself, have ever tried to talk reason to a Liberal. See, that young lady was parroting what her parents say. No logic or thought behind it.

We do talk about Government, political parties, and history very frequently. My husband is very knowledgeable about the Founding Fathers and the Constitution. We ask the kids questions about what is right and wrong. We try to explain things in children's terms. I gave an idea for this in an earlier post.

Once, a dear Conservative friend told us that he did not want to confuse his child with all of this. Perhaps it is too serious a topic for those so young. I think that if you don't teach them, there are plenty who will and you won't like what your child learns. In schools, you will learn about Eco-crap, gay marriage (loved by divorce lawyers everywhere.), how to put on condoms and how it is great to give all your earnings to the Government, who will care for you and see you get what you deserve. (You bet you will.)

You raise your angels in your religion, don't you. Whether Catholic, Lutheran or Jewish, even atheist, you want your kids to follow in your path. So teach them your political values as well. It is easier to talk about then sex or drugs.

If you don't talk to your kids about Liberals, who will?
